The Client
Our client is a property management firm. They provide three bespoke services: asset management, property management and facilities management, for clients with cross-border portfolios. The management team is located across Europe, with headquarters in London and local offices in the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
ITD were engaged to manage the relocation of the head office to an aggressive timescale.
The Challenge
Our client had outgrown its premises and needed to relocate their IT and communications equipment to a new facility. The firm did not have the technical skills to manage the move internally, but needed it to happen with minimum downtime.
Our Approach
• ITD worked closely with the client to develop a detailed project plan.
• We provided full documentation including drawings of the buildings, locations of all outlets, full patching details of the hardware and configuration of the phone system and network.
• ITD conducted a site audit to aid the network design process. All equipment was inventoried and analysed. ITD engineers physically moved and installed the servers and PCs into the new premises. We also performed a complete operational test of the entire network over the weekend with zero downtime.
• A Category 6 structured wiring system with a 15 year warranty was designed and installed. The cabling was complimented by secure managed wireless access for meeting facilities and guest access.
• We relocated the existing telephone system and managed the relocation of voice circuits and hardware. This allowed us to deploy VoIP, which provides for easy migration and expansion as the firm grows.
• We built, configured and tested the hardware prior to the installation and provided training during this procedure.
• Servers, which were distributed throughout their old office, were relocated to a dedicated computer room. We installed rack cabinets, power protection equipment, physical security, partitioning and air-conditioning.
The Results
Relocation of all business functions was completed successfully with minimal disruption to the business and clients.
The project was completed in budget and in just 3 months.
