Swen worm tops virus charts a day after it first appeared

Swen worm tops virus charts a day after it first appeared.

Users have got used to installing  security patches to help prevent the spread of viruses. This has now played into the hands of the virus writers, who are now sending out viruses masquerading as Microsoft security patches.

This viruses uses a security hole first discovered back in 2001, showing both how few keep their systems up to date, and the importance of having procedures in place to to so.

Patches are never distributed via email, so if you get one don't open it.

See sophos.co.uk for the full details.
