Innocent Teddy Bear Caught up in Virus Hoax

9th July 2003

News release from IT department (UK) Ltd

Should you receive an email informing you that a new virus is circulating and that you should manually delete a file called JDBGMGR.EXE - DO NOT DO THIS ! you should ignore the instructions and delete the email.

This is a hoax email that has now been circulating on the internet for a number of years.  The instructions change in different versions but basically they all tell you to delete the file and forward the email on to all your contacts.

The file, which has a teddy bear icon, is a standard windows component. Fortunately deleting it wont damage your PC as it is only used on very rare occasions and for a non essential task.

If you receive any kind of virus warning you should contact your IT support department before taking any action yourself.
