The Surveys say 'Technology increases productivity'

According to the British Chambers of Commerce investment in IT is the most important factor in improving business performance.

The research proved that, of the five performance improvements, over half the companies in the survey, reported IT making the largest contribution.

A related survey by the consultants London Economics, reported that investment in IT contributed 25% a year to the UK's output growth, and 47% of the total productivity growth between 1992 and 2000.
